10 Days Morocco Tour from Marrakech

Welcome to Morocco. Your 10-day Morocco tour from Marrakech begins with your arrival in the Red City. After arriving in Marrakech, settle into your hotel or riad and enjoy your first introduction to one of Morocco's most famous destinations.

Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at your accommodation or enjoy some free time around Marrakech before the full city tour planned for the following day.

Marrakech is one of Morocco's four historic Imperial Cities and an ideal starting point for a journey combining culture, mountains, desert landscapes and northern Morocco.

After breakfast, spend the day discovering Marrakech, one of Morocco's most vibrant and historic cities. Explore the old Medina, its traditional streets, colorful souks and famous public spaces.

The Marrakech city tour can include important landmarks such as the Koutoubia Mosque area, Bahia Palace and Jemaa el-Fna, the famous square at the heart of the old city.

Walk through the Medina and experience the markets, architecture and atmosphere that have made Marrakech one of Morocco's best-known cultural destinations.

After the sightseeing tour, return to your hotel or riad and enjoy a second night in Marrakech before beginning the journey across the High Atlas Mountains.

After breakfast, leave Marrakech and begin the journey through the High Atlas Mountains. Follow the scenic road across the Tizi n'Tichka route, passing mountain landscapes, valleys and traditional villages.

Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a historic fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take time to explore its traditional earthen architecture and narrow passages while learning about one of southern Morocco's best-known ksars.

After visiting Ait Ben Haddou, continue through the landscapes of southern Morocco toward the Rose Valley and Dades Valley.

Arrive in the Dades Valley later in the day and spend the night surrounded by impressive rock formations, valleys and traditional villages.

After breakfast in the Dades Valley, continue toward Tinghir and Todra Gorge. The route passes palm groves, villages and changing landscapes across southeastern Morocco.

Stop at Todra Gorge and enjoy time to walk between its impressive canyon walls. The towering cliffs and narrow valley make Todra one of the most memorable natural stops on the route toward the Sahara.

Continue toward Erfoud, an area known for dates and fossils, before traveling farther south toward Merzouga.

As you approach Merzouga, the landscapes gradually change and the dunes of Erg Chebbi appear on the horizon. Arrive near the Sahara dunes and settle into your accommodation for the night.

Spend a full day discovering the landscapes and communities around Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes. The desert exploration offers a closer look at life and scenery beyond the main road.

Travel by 4x4 around the desert region, with possible stops near palm groves, traditional settlements and desert viewpoints. Depending on local and seasonal conditions, you may also visit areas around the seasonal desert lake.

Continue toward Khamlia, a village known for its Gnawa musical traditions, and discover more of the culture of the Merzouga region. The excursion may also include encounters with local nomad families depending on their location and availability.

Later in the afternoon, prepare for one of the highlights of the tour: a camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Travel through the golden sands and enjoy the changing colors of the Sahara around sunset.

Continue to the desert camp, where you can enjoy dinner and spend the evening beneath the desert sky before staying overnight among the dunes.

Wake early if you would like to watch the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast, leave the Merzouga region and begin the journey north toward Fes.

Travel through the Ziz Valley, known for its extensive palm groves, villages and dramatic scenery. Continue through changing landscapes toward Midelt, located between the High Atlas and Middle Atlas regions.

Continue through the Cedar Forest, where wild Barbary macaques may sometimes be seen in their natural environment. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Travel onward to Ifrane, a mountain town often called the "Switzerland of Morocco" because of its alpine-style architecture and mountain setting.

Continue to Fes and arrive later in the day. Check into your hotel or riad and enjoy the evening before the full Fes city tour the following day.

Spend the day discovering Fes, one of Morocco's oldest and most important cultural cities and one of the country's four historic Imperial Cities.

Explore the historic Medina of Fes with its narrow streets, traditional markets, artisan workshops and centuries-old neighborhoods.

The sightseeing can include panoramic viewpoints over the old city before exploring the Medina and discovering areas associated with traditional leatherwork, ceramics, metalwork and other Moroccan crafts.

Learn more about the history and culture of Fes while exploring some of its best-known areas and landmarks. After the city tour, return to your accommodation for a second night in Fes.

After breakfast, leave Fes and travel north toward Chefchaouen, one of Morocco's most distinctive destinations. The journey takes you toward the Rif Mountains and the landscapes of northern Morocco.

Arrive in Chefchaouen and begin discovering the town's famous blue-painted Medina. Walk through narrow streets, small squares and traditional neighborhoods surrounded by mountain scenery.

Chefchaouen is known for its relaxed atmosphere, blue and white architecture and photogenic streets. Enjoy time exploring the Medina and experiencing a different side of Morocco from the cities and desert landscapes visited earlier in the tour.

Spend the evening in Chefchaouen and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Blue City.

After breakfast, leave Chefchaouen and travel toward Rabat, Morocco's capital city and one of the country's four historic Imperial Cities.

Spend time discovering some of Rabat's important landmarks. Depending on the available schedule, sightseeing can include the Hassan Tower area, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and other parts of the historic city.

After exploring Rabat, continue south along the Atlantic side of Morocco toward Casablanca, the country's largest city and an important economic center.

Arrive in Casablanca and settle into your hotel for the final night of the tour. Depending on arrival time, enjoy some free time in the city before the journey back to Marrakech the following day.

After breakfast in Casablanca, begin the final journey back to Marrakech.

Depending on your schedule, you may have some time in Casablanca before departure. The journey then continues south toward Marrakech, completing a route that has taken you from Morocco's Imperial Cities and Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Desert and the blue streets of Chefchaouen.
