4 Days Tour from Fes to Marrakech

Your journey begins with pickup from your accommodation in Fes. We travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains toward Ifrane, known for its alpine-style atmosphere and often described as the Switzerland of Morocco.

We continue through the cedar forest, where Barbary macaques can sometimes be seen in their natural surroundings. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, but the forest is one of the most distinctive landscapes on the route.

The journey continues toward the Ziz Valley, where palm groves and rocky landscapes create a dramatic transition toward the Sahara. Scenic stops are made along the route before continuing south.

By the end of the day, we arrive in Merzouga at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. You will settle into your hotel or riad and prepare for the full desert exploration the following day.

After breakfast, the day is dedicated to discovering the landscapes and communities around Merzouga by 4×4. The excursion takes you beyond the main roads and across different areas surrounding the Erg Chebbi dunes.

We visit Khamlia village and continue through the Merzouga oasis and the seasonal desert lake area when conditions allow. The route also includes the old mining area and open desert landscapes around Merzouga.

During the 4×4 exploration, we also visit nomad families living in the desert area, giving you an opportunity to learn more about their traditional way of life and their connection with the Sahara.

Around lunchtime, we stop in Khamlia where you can enjoy traditional Berber pizza. Lunch is not included in the tour.

Later in the afternoon, you return toward Merzouga and prepare for the camel trip. You cross the golden Erg Chebbi dunes by camel before reaching the desert camp for the night.

After breakfast, we leave Merzouga and begin the journey west toward Dades Valley. The route passes through Rissani before continuing through the changing landscapes of southeastern Morocco.

We then continue toward Todra Gorge, where steep canyon walls rise dramatically above the valley floor. There is time to stop and explore the surroundings before continuing toward Dades.

The journey continues through rocky valleys and mountain scenery until reaching Dades Valley, where you spend the night.

After breakfast, we leave Dades Valley and continue through Rose Valley toward Ouarzazate, passing through landscapes known for kasbahs, mountain views and traditional villages.

We continue toward Ait Ben Haddou, the historic fortified ksar and UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have time to explore the area before continuing toward the High Atlas Mountains.

The final part of the journey crosses the High Atlas on the road toward Marrakech, with mountain scenery and panoramic viewpoints along the way. The tour ends with drop-off at your accommodation in Marrakech.
