7 Days Morocco Tour from Marrakech

Welcome to Morocco. Upon arrival in Marrakech, meet your driver and transfer to your hotel or riad. Depending on your flight arrival time, your Marrakech city tour may take place on the first day or be arranged for the final day before your departure.

During the Marrakech sightseeing tour, discover the historic Medina and some of the city's best-known landmarks. Walk through traditional streets and souks and experience the atmosphere that makes Marrakech one of Morocco's most fascinating destinations.

The visit can include highlights such as the Koutoubia Mosque area, Bahia Palace and Jemaa el-Fna, the famous square at the heart of Marrakech. The exact sightseeing program can be adapted according to your arrival and departure schedule.

Spend the night in Marrakech before beginning your journey across the High Atlas Mountains toward southern Morocco the following morning.

After breakfast, leave Marrakech and travel into the High Atlas Mountains along the scenic Tizi n'Tichka road. The route passes mountain landscapes, valleys and traditional villages.

Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco's best-known fortified villages and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take time to explore the historic ksar and its traditional earthen architecture.

Continue through southern Morocco toward the Rose Valley and Dades Valley, where changing landscapes, kasbahs and mountain scenery accompany the journey.

Arrive in the Dades Valley later in the day and spend the night in a local hotel or riad surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the region.

After breakfast in the Dades Valley, continue toward Tinghir and Todra Gorge. Travel through palm groves, traditional villages and the changing landscapes of southeastern Morocco.

Stop at Todra Gorge and enjoy time to walk between its impressive canyon walls. The narrow valley and towering cliffs make this one of the most memorable natural stops on the journey.

Continue toward Erfoud, known for dates and fossils, before traveling farther south to Merzouga at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes.

In the afternoon, prepare for your camel trip across the Sahara dunes. Ride through the golden sands of Erg Chebbi and enjoy the changing desert colors around sunset.

Continue to the desert camp, where dinner is served before an evening beneath the Sahara sky. Spend the night in the Erg Chebbi area.

Wake early if you would like to watch the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast, leave Merzouga and begin the journey north toward Fes.

Travel through the Ziz Valley, known for its extensive palm groves, villages and dramatic landscapes. Continue toward Midelt while crossing the changing scenery between the desert region and the Middle Atlas Mountains.

Continue through the Cedar Forest, where wild Barbary macaques may sometimes be seen in their natural environment. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Stop in Ifrane, a mountain town often called the "Switzerland of Morocco" because of its alpine-style architecture and clean mountain setting.

Continue to Fes and arrive later in the day. Check into your hotel or riad and enjoy the evening before the full city tour the following day.

Spend the day discovering Fes, one of Morocco's most important historic and cultural cities. Explore the old Medina of Fes and its maze of narrow streets, traditional workshops and historic monuments.

The sightseeing can include panoramic viewpoints over the old city before entering the Medina to discover its traditional neighborhoods, markets and artisan areas.

See important cultural and historic sites around the Medina and learn about the craftsmanship that has helped make Fes famous for leatherwork, ceramics, metalwork and other traditional Moroccan arts.

After the city tour, return to your accommodation and spend a second night in Fes.

After breakfast, leave Fes and travel toward Rabat, Morocco's capital city and one of the country's four historic imperial cities.

Spend time discovering some of Rabat's best-known landmarks. Depending on the schedule, sightseeing can include the Hassan Tower area, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and views around the historic city.

After exploring Rabat, continue along the Atlantic coast toward Casablanca, Morocco's largest city and one of its main economic centers.

Depending on arrival time, enjoy an introduction to Casablanca before checking into your accommodation for the final night of the tour.

After breakfast in Casablanca, begin the journey back toward Marrakech. The departure time will be planned according to your flight schedule.

If your arrival time on Day 1 did not allow enough time for the Marrakech sightseeing tour, the city visit can instead be arranged on the final day when your departure schedule allows.
